09 Nov Mark Schwarzer EPL update for Optus: Arsenal v Spurs will be a real cracker!
Mark Schwarzer joins Sportsday to chat all things EPL thanks to Optus.
The Socceroos legend shone the spotlight on Premier League title favourites Manchester City who defeated Arsenal 3-1 on the weekend to take a commanding 8-point lead over the rest of the league.
Schwarzer dissects the Tottenham squad ahead of the North London derby with the Gunners after the international break and runs the rule over Aussie midfielder Aaron Mooy’s form with Huddersfield Town.
The most-capped Socceroo was also looking ahead to Saturday morning’s World Cup qualifying play-off first leg against Honduras in San Pedro Sula.
“Of course I’m hoping the Socceroos will win over two legs, regardless of whether they win in Honduras,” he said.
“As long as we stay in the tie, we stay competitive and we give ourselves the best possible chance to qualify when we play them at home.
“The ultimate goal is getting to the World Cup. It’s not about whether we win away in Honduras. It’s about getting that end result over two legs.”
