01 Sep Aziz Behich seals move to PSV Eindhoven
Socceroos defender Aziz Behich has officially joined reigning Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven on transfer deadline day overnight.
Behich made the move from Turkish side Bursaspor on a four-year deal worth $4.5 million.
The left-back will link up with new PSV boss and former Australian assistant coach Mark van Bommel, who worked under Bert van Marwijk during Australia’s recent World Cup campaign.
He will also play alongside Socceroos teammate Trent Sainsbury, who secured a move to the Dutch giants in early August.
The 27-year-old says the opportunity to join a club as big as PSV was too good to refuse.
Very excited and honoured to have joined the @psv family! Can’t wait to get started with this great club and ecstatic for the next 4 years!! Thank you for the warm welcome 🔴⚪️🔴⚪️ #PSV pic.twitter.com/LaH5LORRRu

“He (Mark van Bommel) called me if I was interested in a switch and from that moment on my decision was made,” Behich said.
“Mark is a great coach and besides him, Trent Sainsbury convinced me. He pushed me almost daily to also come to PSV.
“You do not get the chance every day to play at a prestigious club like PSV who also play the type of football, which I love.”
Behich could make his Eredivisie debut against Willem II on Saturday.
PSV have been grouped with Tottenham, Barcelona and Inter Milan in this season’s Champions League.
