29 Oct Real Madrid sack manager after four months in charge
Real Madrid has sacked manager Julen Lopetegui after their 5-1 humiliation to Barcelona in the El Clasico last Sunday.
Lopetegui lasted just four and a half months at Bernabeu after succeeding Zinedine Zidane in June.
Madrid have lost five of their past six matches and currently languish in ninth position in La Liga – their worst start since 2001-02.
It is the second time Lopetegui has been sacked this year after he was sensationally dismissed by Spain just two days before the World Cup.
Former Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is the favourite to replace the Spaniard.
