21 Nov Gaming addiction leaves career of Barcelona star in limbo
Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele could potentially be on the way out of the Spanish giants due to a bizarre gaming addiction.
According to Spanish publication AS, the French World Cup winner missed training after an all-night gaming binge and the like with friends.
Dembele was believed to be playing popular online game Fortnite.
The 21-year-old was dropped from Barcelona’s 4-3 shock defeat to Real Betis, with club officials and fans incensed with his lack of professionalism.
Dembele has grown unsettled in Catalonia and has been linked with a move to the Premier League, specifically Arsenal and Liverpool.
The prodigious winger joined the reigning La Liga champions from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund for a staggering fee of 105 million euros ($165m) in August 2017.
The World Health Organization (WHO) listed 'gaming disorder’ as a mental health condition for the first time earlier this year.
