30 Nov Victory should go after Fornaroli’s signature: Vargas
Former Melbourne Victory defender Roddy Vargas says Kevin Muscat should chase Bruno Fornaroli if he becomes available.
The Melbourne City striker has seemingly fallen out of favour with coach Warren Joyce, with Fornaroli set to miss a second straight game this weekend due to skinfold issues.
It has been reported in the Herald Sun that it’s unlikely Fornaroli and Joyce will be together at City next season, which should trigger their crosstown rivals to chase the 31-year-old, according to Vargas.

“I would be saying to Muscat, jump on board and try and sign him,” Vargas told SEN Mornings.
“To me, he is one of the most outstanding players and strikers in the league. I’ve read reports that it was something to do with his skinfolds, he came back from the international break a little bit worse for wear, not in the best shape.
“I’ve always said, you can’t treat each player the same. There are certain things and certain standards that everyone has to adhere to but every player is different.
“He has been around, proven goal scorer, you have to have him in the squad. He is the marquee player. It is mind boggling how he is not in that team.”
