19 Dec Fornaroli, Joyce saga out of the players control: Jamieson
Melbourne City captain Scott Jamieson says the players aren’t in a position to speak on the on-going saga involving Bruno Fornaroli and head coach Warren Joyce.
Fornaroli has mysteriously fallen out of favour under Joyce, who cited the Uruguayan's lack of professionalism as the reason for his exclusion from City’s matchday squads in recent weeks.
While there's no denying his goal scoring pedigree, Jamieson says City have proven they can prosper without the star striker, highlighted by their 2-0 win over Adelaide United last week.
"It’s not a case of me being tired of it, but it’s got to a point now where as a captain and as a player, it’s not for us to speak on it anymore," Jamieson told SEN Breakfast.
"As players we know it’s a selection thing and the manager chooses the team and Bruno’s not in it.
"This is not me having a go, we need to keep focusing and I think people upstairs and the higher paid echelon group need to speak about it and I’m sure they will.

"There’s no denying looking at Bruno’s history in our football club, he’s been fantastic.
"The fact is he hasn’t played in the last four-or-five games and we’ve won games without him, so as much as it would be good to have him, it’s understanding of why he’s not being picked because the manager chooses the team."
City take on rivals Melbourne Victory in the season’s second edition of the Melbourne Derby at AAMI Park on Saturday night.
