09 Jan Report: City eyeing Socceroos striker
Melbourne City could undertake a major mid-season makeover, with the club reportedly eyeing off Socceroos striker Jamie Maclaren.
The Herald Sun is reporting City is set to make a marquee bid for Maclaren, which would see Warren Joyce’s attacking stocks increase dramatically.
The Bruno Fornaroli for Andy Keogh swap is “edging closer”, with the agreement set to be struck next week.
REPORT: CITY SET TO MAKE SHOCK FORNAROLI BACKFLIP
If City wishes to secure Maclaren’s services, Fornaroli’s exit becomes essential, as it would free up the necessary marquee player spot.
Maclaren is on loan to Scottish club Hibernian, from German club Darmstadt. He is currently playing for Australia in the Asian Cup.
Melbourne is expected to squeeze Keogh into their salary cap.
