10 Jan Report: Warrant issued for soccer superstar Ronaldo
Soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has been issued a warrant to obtain his DNA in relation to a rape investigation, according to The Wall Street Journal.
A woman has accused Ronaldo of rape, with Las Vegas authorities issuing the warrant to see if his DNA matches that found on her dress.
Kathryn Mayorga filed a lawsuit that alleges Ronaldo raped her in 2009, and then paid her $375,000, to keep it a secret.
“Mr. Ronaldo has always maintained, as he does today, that what occurred in 2009 in Las Vegas was consensual in nature,” an attorney for Ronaldo, Peter S. Christiansen, said.
