22 Jan Matildas release statement regarding Stajcic departure
The Matildas have released the following statement after the dismissal of their former coach Alen Stajcic over the weekend:
We, the Matildas, would like to acknowledge it’s been a difficult time for everyone involved.

As a playing group we are committed to continuing to build on the success we have achieved under his guidance.

FFA CEO David Gallop revealed that a replacement for Stajcic will be found within the next fortnight.
Australia open their 2019 Women’s World Cup campaign against Italy on the 9th of June.
