30 Jan Thomas provides Honda hamstring injury update

Melbourne Victory goalkeeper Lawrence Thomas has provided an update on star Keisuke Honda’s hamstring injury.

Honda has been sidelined all month with the injury and likely won’t be back on the park just yet.

“I think it surprised a few of the boys the amount of time he’s been out for and he’s been on the pitch doing some intense work, but I hear the same news that he probably won’t be involved this week,” Thomas told SEN Breakfast.

“At first I was under the impression it was a shorter term thing, but it’s a bit unfortunate.

“He’s obviously been quite a big loss for the boys, so hopefully we get him back I’d say for the Perth game if we’re lucky.”

Victory sit second on the A-League ladder and play the Central Coast Mariners on Saturday.
