Sydney FC v Adelaide United
Friday March 1st, Leichhardt Oval, 7:50pm AEDST
Sydney FC take on Adelaide United to kick-off the first of the split rounds this A-League season.
The Sky Blues returned to winning ways with a 1-0 over Wellington thanks a second-half penalty from the competition’s leading goal scorer Adam Le Fondre.
Adelaide were held to a goalless draw by Newcastle to stay in fourth position, two points ahead of fifth-placed Melbourne City.
The Reds will have extra motivation heading into the clash with club captain Isaias making his 150th appearance in the A-League.
Steve Corica’s side are undefeated in their last eight games against Adelaide, winning five and keeping six clean sheets.

Melbourne Victory v Newcastle Jets
Saturday March 2nd, GMHBA Stadium, 7:50pm AEDST
Melbourne Victory travel to Geelong to host an improved Newcastle Jets side.
The Victory fought back from going down to 10-men to salvage a 1-1 against rivals Melbourne City, but dropped to third behind Sydney FC.
Newcastle failed to close the gap on Wellington after a 0-0 draw against Adelaide.
The Jets sit five points outside the top six with games starting to run out in their bid to pinch a finals berth.
Kevin Muscat’s side have won both encounters this season with 17 goals scored in the last four matches between these two.
*Tip: Melbourne Victory 2 Newcastle Jets 1
Melbourne City v Perth Glory
Sunday March 3rd, AAMI Park, 5:00pm AEDST
Underperforming Melbourne City are in desperate need of a win when they host league leaders Perth Glory.
City have won just once in their last eight matches with the pressure continuing to mount on coach Warren Joyce.
New signing Jamie Maclaren has netted three goals in his opening three games for the Citizens – the first player to achieve the feat in competition history.
Perth have one hand on the Premiers Plate despite being held to a 1-1 draw against strugglers Western Sydney Wanderers.
Another win for the Glory would be vital to keep both Sydney FC and Melbourne Victory at arm’s length.
Tip: Melbourne City 1 Perth Glory 2
