07 Mar Promising utility becomes Western United's third signing
Utility Connor Chapman has become Western United’s third major signing ahead of their inaugural A-League season.
The former Newcastle and Melbourne City man joined the the Victorian-based side on a two-year deal from South Korean club Pohang Steelers.
He joins Greek international Panagiotis Kone and Socceroos right-back Josh Risdon as the expansion club’s latest addition.
“I am very excited to join Western United as we embark on our inaugural season,” Chapman said.
“My experience in the very tough Korean League has been invaluable, and at 24 for I feel that I am entering the peak of my career.
"Representing this new and exciting club in Western United in the A-League is a great opportunity for me personally and for team success.
“I look forward to building something special with my future teammates, and for the fans of the west.”
Chapman, 24, was part of City’s FFA Cup winning squad in 2016 before a two-year spell in Korea for with the Steelers and Incheon United.
