Round 25 of the A-League is upon us with some fascinating fixtures to look forward to in what should be another action-packed weekend of football.
Here’s a preview of this weekend’s A-League matches:
Brisbane Roar v Wellington Phoenix
Friday April 12th, Suncorp Stadium, 7:50pm AEDST
Wellington will look to solidify their spot in the top four against ninth-placed Brisbane to kick-off Round 25.
The Phoenix lost to Adelaide United last week and must bounce back if they’re to maintain their position in fourth position.
This season can’t finish soon enough for the Roar who recorded their fourth loss in a row against Melbourne City last Friday night.

Melbourne City v Adelaide United
Saturday April 13th, AAMI Park, 5:35pm AEDST
Melbourne host Adelaide in a vital game for both club’s top four aspirations.
City returned to form with a 4-1 win over Brisbane, while the Reds swept aside Wellington 3-1.
Fifth-placed United sit one point above Warren Joyce’s side coming into Saturday’s clash.

Western Sydney Wanderers v Sydney FC
Saturday April 13th, ANZ Stadium, 7:50pm AEDST
It’s the third and final Sydney Derby of the 2018/19 A-League season.
Western Sydney were beaten 3-2 by Newcastle last time out, while Sydney FC secured a vital 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory to open up a four-point gap in second spot.
The Sky Blues have just lost once in their 15 past matches against their fierce rivals.

Melbourne Victory v Central Coast Mariners
Sunday April 14th, AAMI Park, 5:00pm AEDST
Melbourne Victory will look to continue their strong recent record against Central Coast.
The Mariners’ last win over the Victory came on April 14, 2013 and come into the match on the back of consecutive defeats against Perth and Adelaide.
Kevin Muscat will look for an immediate response following the 2-1 defeat to Sydney.

Perth Glory v Newcastle Jets
Sunday April 14th, HPF Park, 7:00pm AEDST
Holding a six-point lead at the top, Perth Glory have one hand on the Premiers Plate ahead of Sunday’s match against Newcastle.
The Glory returned to the winners list with a comfortable 3-0 win over Central Coast, while the Jets edged out Western Sydney in a five-goal thriller.
Tony Popovic’s side should prove too strong at home.
