WATCH | Arsenal come from behind to fire past Valencia

Arsenal has every chance of progressing to the Europa League final following a 3-1 win over Valencia.

Coming into the contest on the back of a trio of Premier League defeats, Unai Emery’s Gunners fell a goal behind at the Emirates Stadium but rallied in front of their faithful to secure victory in the semi-final first leg.

The result sets them up for a tilt at their first European title since 1994.

Valencia, who had lost their last two in Spain's La Liga, opened the scoring on 11 minutes with Mouctar Diakhaby finishing a beautiful set piece routine.

Six minutes later and the Gunners were back on level terms courtesy of a quality Alexandre Lacazette finish from a scything Arsenal counter-attack.

In the 25th minute, Arsenal went in front when Lacazette’s header from a Granit Xhaka cross found its way across the line despite the best efforts of Valencia keeper Neto.

Lacazette had a couple of golden opportunities to complete his hat-trick but the Frenchman botched his chances before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang fired home a close range volley to give Arsenal a healthy two-goal advantage.

The north London outfit will head to Spain to take on Los Ches in the return bout on Friday morning (AEST), May 10.

In the other semi-final, Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea drew 1-1 with Eintracht Frankfurt in Germany.

Luka Jovic opened the scoring for Frankfurt in the 23rd minute with a sublime glancing header.

Before Blues winger Pedro equalised on the stroke of half-time.

Chelsea and Frankfurt resume hostilities at Stamford Bridge, also on Friday morning (AEST), May 10.
