06 May WATCH | Kompany missile puts City on the brink of title glory
Manchester City are one win away from defending their Premier League title after recording a hard-fought 1-0 win over Leicester City.
A stunning strike from City captain Vincent Kompany with 20 minutes remaining was enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to see off the Foxes on what was a tense night at the Etihad Stadium.
Kompany chose the ideal time to score his first goal of the season, unleashing a rasping 25-yard stunner that nestled into the top corner.
The win means the Sky Blues hold a one-point lead over Liverpool at the top of the Premier League with one game remaining.
A victory over Brighton on the final day will ensure City become the first club since Manchester United in 2007-08 and 2008-09 to win back-to-back titles.
