Liverpool dealt double injury blow ahead of Barcelona tie

Liverpool will be without Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino for their Champions League semi-final second-leg tie against Barcelona at Anfield.

Salah failed to recover from a head knock that saw him stretchered off during the Reds’ 3-2 win over Newcastle on Saturday.

Firmino is currently sidelined with a groin injury in a major blow for Jurgen Klopp’s side as they look to overturn a 3-0 first-leg deficit.

The attacking duo have combined for 42 goals this campaign.

"Two of the world's best strikers are not available tomorrow night and we have to score four goals," Klopp told reporters.

"It doesn't make life easier, but we will try for 90 minutes to celebrate the Champions League campaign to give it a proper finish."

The tie gets underway at 5am AEST tomorrow morning.
