Brazilian football star Neymar has been accused of raping a woman in a hotel in Paris last month.

A Brazilian police document says the alleged incident occurred on May 15 and the woman went to police on Friday in Sao Paulo.

The document alleges the woman did not file her complaint in Paris because she was shaken.

In a television interview, Neymar’s father says the accusation by the unidentified woman is “a setup” against his son.

“This is a tough moment,” he told TV Band.

“If we can’t show the truth quickly it will be a snowball.

“If we have to show Neymar’s WhatsApp messages and the conversations with this lady, we will.”

Neymar is in Brazil preparing for the Copa America, which commences next week.
