18 Jun Melbourne City sign former Premier League attacker
Melbourne City has confirmed the signing of former Premier League winger Craig Noone.
Noone, 31, joins from troubled English side Bolton Wanderers who were relegated from the Championship and placed in administration.
The former Cardiff City attacker is looking forward to beginning the next chapter of his career in the A-League.
“I’m excited to join Melbourne City and test myself in the A-League,” Noone said.
“I want to win and be competing for silverware.
“I know a few players in Australia and know the quality is good. I’m expecting it to be physical and fast-paced and can’t wait to step out in front of the fans for the first time at AAMI Park.”
The Englishman is City’s second foreign signing after the capture of French attacking midfielder Florin Berenguer.
He also had stints with English clubs Brighton and Hove Albion and Plymouth Argyle.
City are still without a coach following the departure of former boss Warren Joyce.
