19 Sep Melbourne Victory sign Albanian international
Melbourne Victory has confirmed the signing of Albanian international Migjen Basha, completing the club’s international quota.
The 32-year-old joins on a two-year contract from Greek side Aris Thessaloniki.
Basha brings a wealth of experience having spent several seasons in Italy playing for a host of clubs including Atalanta, Bari and Torino.
Debuting for Albania in 2013, the midfielder has 33 caps for his country with his most recent appearance coming in a Euro 2020 qualifier in June.
"I'm very pleased to add another international with such experience to our squad," Head Coach Marco Kurz told melbournevictory.com.au.
"Given he has played at the highest level domestically I believe he will be a strong leader amongst the group.
"With midfielders Jakob (Poulsen) and Kristijan (Dobras) having also arrived, we're really pleased with the talent we've managed to add ahead of round one."
Victory open their A-League campaign against rivals Melbourne City at Marvel Stadium on October 12.
