Report: Wenger the “absolute favourite” to take charge of European giants

Arsene Wenger could be about to make a stunning return to management.

According to German publication Bild, Wenger is the “absolute favourite” to take charge of Bayern Munich for the rest of the season.

The German champions parted ways with Niko Kovac after Sunday’s humiliating 5-1 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt with the ex-Arsenal boss tipped to replace the Croatian.

Wenger won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups during his 22-year stay in north London.

The Frenchman left the Gunners in May, 2018 after a disappointing final two seasons that saw the club drop out of the Champions League.

Bayern sit fourth in the Bundesliga, four points behind leaders Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The Bavarians have also booked their spot in the Champions League Round of 16.
