14 Nov Socceroos make history in Jordan
Australia defeated Jordan 1-0 in a 2022 World Cup qualifier overnight.
The only goal of the contest in Amman was scored by Adam Taggart in the 13th minute as the Socceroos made history by producing their first ever away win in Jordan.
It was Taggart’s sixth international goal and continued a brilliant run of form which has seen him net 18 times in 31 appearances in all competitions for South Korean club Suwon Bluewings this season.

“It is important to end the year on a high and it's a tough place to come and history has shown how difficult it is for any country to come here,” Taggart said.
“So we're all really happy with the result and I think we've still go a lot to go and there's still a lot to build on.”
Socceroos goalkeeper Mat Ryan was up to the task late in proceedings to deny the Jordanians, allowing the visitors to take home all three points.

Graham Arnold’s outfit has now moved to 12 points which sees them sitting five clear at the top of Group B having won all four of their qualifiers to date.
Kuwait and Jordan are on seven points while Nepal have banked three and Chinese Taipei are winless at the foot.
Australia’s next qualifying fixture is at home against Kuwait in March next year.
