“You are a f—ing disgrace”: Foul-mouthed rant at journalists sees manager sacked

An astonishing diatribe at two journalists has seen Michael Jolley sacked as Grimsby Town manager.

The League Two side dismissed Jolley on Friday with Grimsby in 18th place, just six points off bottom-placed Stevenage but with two games in hand.

It was later revealed an explicit conversation between Jolley and BBC Humberside journalists John Tondeur and Matt Dean forced the club’s hand.

According to the Daily Mail, club officials were shocked by Jolley’s foul-mouthed rant following Grimsby’s 4-0 home loss to Leyton Orient.

Jolley slammed Humberside’s coverage of Grimsby in a four-minute tirade where he dropped the f-word 58 times.

Jolley blasted Dean: “You are a f—ing disgrace.”

“Every time you interview me you’re antagonistic, confrontational, who do you think you are, Jeremy Paxman?

“You are a f—ing disgrace of a journalist. The f—ing radio station gives us f—ing no positive coverage whatsoever.”

“We were f—ing 10th going into today, mate. Near the f—ing play-offs and have you seen our f—ing budget?

“Have you seen our budget. Do you know where we f—ing should be?”

The four-minute clip was later leaked on social media.

Grimsby won five of 15 games under Jolley this season.
