18 Dec Mooy won’t be “short of suitors” if Brighton form continues
Aaron Mooy won’t be “short of suitors” if his stellar form for Brighton & Hove Albion continues, according to his agent Josh Barnett.
Mooy, who is on a season-long loan at the Seagulls from Huddersfield Town, has impressed over the last month, particularly in the 2-1 win away at Arsenal in early December.
Brighton have the option to make the midfielder’s deal permanent at season’s end, but Barnett feels the Socceroo could have a plethora of options if he continues this rich vein of form.
“Brighton have an option to buy him and sure they’ll (be keen) to take it up,” Barnett told SBS’ The World Game.
“The ball is pretty much in Brighton’s court. Nothing has been discussed as yet, and who knows what will happen.
“He’s playing magnificently at the moment. He’s showing consistency and he’s not going to be short of suitors, put it that way.”
Mooy, 29, joined Huddersfield from Manchester City for £8 million in 2017 and signed a three-year extension with the Terriers in August, despite the club being relegated from the Premier League.
Brighton entertain Sheffield United at the Amex Stadium on Sunday morning (AEDST).
