Honda bags brace of assists as Victory remain winless

Melbourne Victory marquee man Keisuke Honda continues to be a shining light for the winless reigning champions, as they fell to their second straight defeat to start the new A-League season.

After netting on his debut against rivals Melbourne City, Honda provided assists for both Terry Antonis and Storm Roux's goals in the Victory’s dramatic 3-2 loss to Perth Glory.

It means the Japanese icon has had a hand in all three goals Kevin Muscat’s men have scored this campaign.

Honda has also created 10 chances from his first two outings – the most of any player in the league.

The Victory will look to get their championship defence back on track when they face the Newcastle Jets at McDonalds Jones Stadium in a replay of last season’s Grand Final.
