15 Jan WATCH | Super 93rd minute Rogic goal secures Socceroos advance in Asian Cup
The Socceroos have advanced to the knockout stages of the Asian Cup, after a stunning Tom Rogic goal in the 93rd minute gave Australia a thrilling 3-2 victory over Syria.
Rogic’s outside the box rocket secured the win for the Aussies, who led twice previously throughout the game, thanks to goals to Awer Mabil (41st minute) and Chris Ikonomidis (54th minute).
However, Syria wouldn’t go away, with Omar Kharbin (43rd minute) and Omar Al-Soma (80th minute) both scoring equalisers.
The most drama was left to the final moments, though, when this Rogic shot found the back of the net.

"I just thought it was a helter-skelter game at times because Syria played very direct and very long," coach Graham Arnold said.
"It's all about the second ball, and it's all about the challenges, and it's all about playing against the way we want to play because the ball's in the air all the time and we want it on the ground.
"It was a good performance in that respect."
Arnold added he expects three of the four injured Australian players (Andrew Nabbout, Trent Sainsbury, Mathew Leckie and Josh Risdon) to return for their next outing.
The Socceroos’ next match will be in the round of 16 on Monday January 21 against either Uzbekistan or Japan.
