11 Feb Stajcic axing "could have been handled a little bit better": Kerr
Matildas striker Sam Kerr says Alen Stajcic’s departure could have been handled a little bit better.
Stajic was sacked as Matildas coach in January, with the players and public unclear of the reasons why.
Not only has Stajcic been left in the dark, but Kerr says her teammates have been too.
“There’s always going to be good and bad about things and I think it could have been handled a little bit better maybe,” she said.
“But look, we don’t actually know the details like you so we’re actually not sure what’s going on.
“I think it’s unclear to everyone.
“We’re in the same boat as the public so I guess it is a bit of an odd situation.”
Since the axing, Kerr says she has spoken to Stajcic, offering her support to him and his family.
“I’ve been around with Staj for many, many years,” the Perth Glory striker said.
“I’ve definitely spoke to Staj and just said I’m here for him and his family.”
