12 Feb David Gallop, senior FFA officials to go under review
FFA Chief Executive David Gallop and his fellow senior officials are reportedly set to face a review into their positions.
This comes after the FFA sacked Matildas coach Alen Stajcic five months out from the World Cup – something that the board was extremely dissatisfied with.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the FFA board will conduct an in-depth review into the performance of the organisation’s senior management.
This will include Gallop, head of women’s football Emma Highwood and head of national teams Luke Casserly.
The board met just hours after Stajcic made his first public appearance since his axing, and sources believe they discussed the Stajcic saga at length.
The board also remains sure the decision to dismiss Stajcic was the correct one for the Matildas, but were dissatisfied with the handling of it.
They believe the issue should’ve been raised much earlier, rather than so close to a major tournament.
“Every one of our staff will have a performance review because this has trashed our brand,” a board source told the Herald Sun.
The review adds to Stajcic’s intention to take legal action against the FFA over his dismissal.
