04 Mar Klopp blames wind as Liverpool surrender top spot
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp says the windy conditions played a part in their goalless draw to bitter rivals Everton at Goodison Park.
The Merseyside derby stalemate means the Reds are now one point behind Manchester City at the top of the Premier League table with nine games remaining.
Liverpool were unable to breach a determined Toffees outfit and Klopp believes the weather was a contributing factor to the result.
"Very, very difficult game for different reasons," Klopp told Sky Sports.
"A wild opponent and – I know people don't like it when I say this – the wind came from all different directions, you saw that in a lot of situations.
"It didn't help any football play, especially when the ball was in the air which it was a lot. In a game that was difficult to control because of those things, we had I think three or four really big chances."
Next up for Liverpool is a home match against Burnley on Sunday.
