07 Mar Matildas claim inaugural Cup of Nations on home soil
The Matildas have claimed the inaugural Cup of Nations after defeating Argentina 3-0 on Wednesday.
New Australian captain Sam Kerr inspired the win with a goal in the first four minutes of the game.

Alanna Kennedy doubled Australia’s advantage at the 30-minute mark, with Caitlin Foord sealing the victory with an injury-time penalty.
The Matildas defeated New Zealand 2-0 in and South Korea 4-1 to claim the inaugural title, getting Ante Milicic’s tenure off to a good start.
They kick off their World Cup campaign on June 9 against Italy.
