10 Apr Could Warren Joyce continue as Melbourne City coach?
A strong finish to the season could see Warren Joyce continue as Melbourne City coach next season, according to the Herald Sun’s chief football writer David Davutovic.
Joyce has been recently linked with a shock move to A-League rival Wellington Phoenix with his contract set to expire at season’s end.
City sit in 6th position with just 10 wins from 24 starts in what has been an inconsistent campaign.
“His representatives had contact with Wellington Phoenix which (Warren) Joyce denied obviously late last week,” Davutovic told SEN’s KB and The Doc.
“If I was a betting man, I reckon Warren Joyce will be at Melbourne City next season.
“If they finish the season respectfully, I think there’s a real desire from the City Football Group chiefs to keep him on for next season and to continue on his work of the last two years.

“He has certainly polarised opinion with City fans… it really will depend on how they finish the season.”
City could go a long way to cementing a top-six finish with victory over Adelaide United at AAMI Park on Saturday.
