10 May Report: A-League rivals showing interest in Melbourne Victory attacker
Melbourne Victory attacker Kosta Barbarouses is attracting interest from rival A-League clubs.
Sydney FC and the Western Sydney Wanderers are just two clubs interested in the New Zealand international, according to a report.
Talks between Barbarouses and the Victory have been deferred until the conclusion of their A-League campaign.
Barbarouses joins James Troisi and Georg Neidermeier as players coming out of contract for the reigning A-League champions.
After 15 goals from 28 appearances for Victory so far this season, the 29-year-old understands the interest, but didn't ruled out a move abroad.
“It’s normal after having a good year that there’s going to be interest from elsewhere,” he told The Daily Telegraph.
“I’ll speak to Victory as well and see what their thoughts are on it.
“I’ve still got ambitions as well to play abroad and if that comes up. That would be something to think about.
“No decision’s been made yet, it’s a pretty exciting time and I’m pretty excited to see what the future’s going to hold.”
Melbourne Victory will aim for a spot in the A-League Grand Final when they take on Sydney FC at Jubilee Stadium on Sunday.
