15 May Former Socceroo Jedinak guides Villa to Championship play-off final
Mile Jedinak successfully converted his spot-kick to help Aston Villa defeat West Bromwich Albion 4-3 on penalties to reach the Championship play-off final.
After being substituted on in the 120th minute, the former Socceroos captain coolly slotted the Villans’ second penalty as his side booked a trip to Wembley on May 28.
The Baggies won the second-leg 1-0 thanks to Craig Dawson's first-half header, but the match went to a shootout after the tie finished at 2-2 after extra-time.
Villa will now meet either Leeds United or Derby County to decide the final Premier League promotion spot for next season.
The Midlands club were relegated from England’s top flight in 2016.
