07 Jun Reports: Real Madrid agree fee for Chelsea superstar
Real Madrid has agreed a fee with Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard worth £88m ($A160m) plus significant add-ons, according to multiple reports.
Hazard, 28, has one year remaining on his contract with the Blues and revealed his plans on leaving the club after scoring twice in the 4-1 Europa League final win over Arsenal.
The fee is understood to be below Chelsea’s asking price of £130m ($236.5).
A transfer to the 13-time European champions will signal the end of Hazard’s seven-year stint at Stamford Bridge, where he won two Premier League titles, one League Cup, one FA Cup and two Europa League crowns.
Hazard’s impending arrival comes as Los Blancos look to rebuild after a disastrous campaign that saw them finish third in La Liga and eliminated at the Round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
The loss of the Belgian as a major blow for Chelsea who have been imposed with a transfer ban by FIFA and face uncertainty over the future of current coach Maurizio Sarri, amid reported links to the vacant Juventus job.
