“A new challenge”: Pogba confirms Manchester United exit plans

Paul Pogba says he is open to leaving Manchester United this European summer to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere.

Pogba, who joined the Red Devils for a then-world record fee of £89.3m ($A151.76 million) in 2016, has been linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid and former club and Serie A champions Juventus.

The French World Cup winner is contracted to the Premier League heavyweights until July 2021, but these latest comments have cast doubt over his future at Old Trafford.

"I am thinking of this: To have a new challenge somewhere else," Pogba said.

"For me, I have been for three years in Manchester and have been doing great; some good moments and some bad moments, like everybody. Like everywhere else.

"After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well … I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge."

The 26-year-old midfielder was named in the 2018/19 PFA Team of the Year in a trophyless United campaign that saw them place sixth in the Premier League.
