23 Jul Socceroo completes Melbourne Victory return
Melbourne Victory has confirmed the signing of Socceroos attacker Robbie Kruse on a two-year deal.
Kruse will embark on a second stint with the Victory having scored 16 goals in 43 appearances between 2011-2013.
The 30-year-old will undertake a medical before linking up with the squad in preparing for the upcoming A-League season.
“I am excited to return home after eight years playing overseas,” Kruse told melbournevictory.com.au.
"It was an incredible experience, but to have the opportunity to come back to the A-League and represent Victory again is really special.
“I have great memories playing with Victory and of the club as whole; it helped me set expectations of myself as a player and ground me professionally.
“During our discussions, I’ve been impressed with Marco Kurz’s vision for the team and look forward to joining my teammates, many new and a couple I already know.”
Kruse left the Victory for Fortuna Dusseldorf in 2011 and had stints with Bayer Leverkusen, Stuttgart and Chinese club Liaoning Whowin.
He has won 75 caps for the Socceroos and was a free agent after leaving German side VfL Bochum.
