22 Aug Liverpool boss Klopp drops retirement hint
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has hinted he could retire from management in the near future.
Klopp, 52, guided the Reds to a sixth Champions League crown as well as a second-place finish with 97 points in the Premier League last term.
The charismatic German’s current deal expires at the end of 2022, having signed a six-year extension in July 2016.
Upon receiving Sport Bild's 2018-19 manager of the season award, the former Dortmund and Mainz boss says no one should be surprised if he does decide call it a day.
"I hope to continue like this, but in two, three years I don’t know what may happen,” Klopp said.
"Maybe I'll retire. It doesn’t necessarily mean it will happen, but if that were the case, you wouldn’t be surprised.”
Liverpool sit top of the Premier League with two wins from two games ahead of Saturday’s clash against Arsenal at Anfield.
