02 Oct Bayern embarrass Tottenham in record Champions League defeat
Tottenham Hotspur’s early season struggles hit a new low, suffering a humiliating 7-2 Champions League home defeat to Bayern Munich.
Ex-Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry bagged four goals as Spurs experienced the biggest-ever home loss by an English club in any European competition.
Gnabry became just the second player after Lionel Messi to score four goals against English opposition.
It’s been a difficult start to the campaign for manager Mauricio Pochettino and his Tottenham side, who remain winless in Group B and sit 10 points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool domestically.
Pochettino guided the north Londoners to their first Champions League final last term but were beaten 2-0 by the Reds in heartbreaking fashion.
