16 Oct Socceroos put seven past Chinese Taipei in World Cup qualifier
Australia has thrashed Chinese Taipei 7-1 in Kaohsiung to make it three wins from three in 2022 World Cup qualifying.
Adam Taggart, Jackson Irvine and Harry Souttar scored twice while Jamie Maclaren netted his fourth goal in two games following his hat-trick against Nepal.
“The last part of the pitch is always the hardest at national team level as you have 23 players that come who play at different clubs, under different coaches and play different ways,” coach Graham Arnold said.
“But the last two camps we’ve worked very hard on our attacking patterns, our combination play and you can see it coming together."
The Socceroos sit top of Group B with maximum points ahead of their testing fixture against Jordan in Amman on November 15 AEST.
Arnold’s side lost to Jordan 1-0 in their last meeting in the Asian Cup.
