15 Nov One Socceroo in Kewell’s all-time teammates XI
Harry Kewell has revealed his all-time teammates XI, with just one Socceroo making the cut.
Kewell – who was voted Australia’s greatest every footballer – represented Leeds United, Liverpool and Galatasaray, winning the FA Cup and the UEFA Champions League with the Reds.
The winger also scored 17 goals in 58 caps for the Socceroos, representing his country at two World Cups in 2006 and 2010.
Speaking on Optus Sport, Kewell explained the key traits he looked for when selecting his team.
"The team I’ve picked is a team that I feel would have caused a lot damage. I saw them day in and day out," Kewell said.
"They would have been hard working, would have been able to adapt to games, there would have been goals in there.
"The important thing is we would have been able to play out from the back."
Below is Harry Kewell’s all-time teammates XI:
GK: Pepe Reina (Liverpool)
RB: Steve Finnan (Liverpool)
CB: Jonathan Woodgate (Leeds)
CB: Daniel Agger (Liverpool)
RM: Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
CM: David Batty (Leeds United)
