19 Dec WATCH | Ronaldo defies gravity with 8ft 5in jump for headed goal
Cristiano Ronaldo has defied gravity with an astonishing headed goal for Juventus in their Serie A match against Sampdoria.
Ronaldo was 8ft 5in (2.56m) off the ground when he directed his header into the back of the net to give Juve the lead on the stroke of half time.
The 34-year-old seemed to float on air as his insane effort helped Juventus return to the top of Serie A courtesy of a 2-1 victory.
Sampdoria manager Claudio Ranieri was in awe of Ronaldo’s incredible athleticism.
“When someone scores a goal like that, you just have to look and admire,” Ranieri said.
“Ronaldo scored in the style of an NBA player, he was on the air for an hour and a half. You can't say anything about it, just tip your hat towards them and that's it.”
Ronaldo’s header took his league tally to 10 goals in 14 games with six of those coming in his last five appearances.
