13 Jan Melbourne Victory coach Kurz banned for outburst at official
Melbourne Victory coach Marco Kurz has been suspended for one match after abusing an official during Sunday’s controversial 3-2 loss to the Central Coast Mariners.
The A-League’s Match Review Panel charged Kurz for the use of “offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures against a match official” and was handed the minimum sanction for his outburst.
Kurz lost his cool and was later shown a red card after the Mariners were awarded a second stoppage-time penalty that saw them complete a stirring comeback win.
Victory assistant coaches Filip Tapalovic and Carlos Perez Salvachua will take charge of Friday night’s match against Adelaide United at Coopers Stadium.
Melbourne currently sit sixth on the table with four wins from 13 games.
